Engine transportation isn’t just moving a turbofan from A to B—it’s managing OEM requirements, airfreight limits and shop‑floor realities without adding downtime. RH Aero delivers end‑to‑end engine transportation solutions: OEM‑approved engine stands and support across air, road, sea and shop movements, with shock attenuation and COBRA integration where applicable. Our solutions let you choose whole vs. split strategies, fit standard freighters or heavy lifters, and keep your Rolls‑Royce, GE or Pratt & Whitney engine protected at every step.
Proven With The OEMs
Stands licensed/approved or validated on major engine programs including Rolls‑Royce Trent XWB/1000/7000/800, GE90/GE9X, and Pratt & Whitney PW1500G/PW1700G/PW1900G.
Designed For Every Mode
Solutions for standard freighters (e.g., B747F/B777F) when split, as well as AN‑124 or Beluga when a whole engine/QECU must fly; all stands are engineered for road and sea transport, too.
Protection Engineered In
Shock‑attenuated cradles and castors, hydraulic/mechanical rolling to reduce height, integrated airfreight pallets, forklift tubes with limiters, and multi‑direction tow bars are standard design elements across the range.
Lifecycle support
Global service network in all major time zones with 24/7/365 AOG response. On‑site proof‑load testing, refurbishment/overhaul, and leasing options keep fleets mission‑ready.
Let’s Move Your Engine
Whether you need a single stand on short notice or a global program with refurbishment, leasing and documentation, RH Aero makes engine transportation predictable and safe.
Our Stand Families
SES – Split Engine Stands
- Use case: Air transport in standard freighters by shipping fan and core separately while maintaining protection and handling ergonomics.
- Examples: Trent XWB SES Fan/Core/Kit (with integrated airfreight pallets, hydraulic pump for fan case removal, forklift tubes with limiter).
WES – Whole Engine Stands
- Use case: Storage, shop movement, and road/sea shipment of complete engines; air transport on widebody cargo aircraft when height/weight allow.
- Example: Trent XWB WES with permanent shock attenuation and hydraulic rolling.
APS – All Purpose Stands
- Use case: Installation/removal, local/shop movement, plus air/road/sea transport in one configurable package.
- Example: Trent 1000/7000 APS (Rolls‑Royce licensed), featuring mechanical rolling mechanisms, retractable swivel castors and side/forward/rear towing.
Basic / MPS / Rollover / Shop Stands
- Use case: Day‑to‑day shop and transport tasks where flexibility and footprint matter.
- Examples:
- Trent 1000 Basic – Hydraulic rolling, shock‑absorbing/retractable castors, quick‑release tow bars.
- Trent 700 MPS – Hydraulic lowering/raising for active suspension, airfreight pallet, castor spacers for ground clearance.
- Trent 800 Stand – Engine rolling to enable air freight; forklift channels and crane‑lift options.
- GE90/GE9X Stand – Spring‑loaded castors, forklift channels, stackable design (two stands), listed in the GE EMM; all required equipment delivered with the stand.
- GE9X Shop Stand – Towable front/back, removable maintenance platforms, brake system, storage boxes.
Dual‑Purpose & Program‑Specific Stands
- PW1500G/PW1900G Dual‑Purpose Stand – One cradle covering both engine families; certified for air/road/sea on a ULD pallet and compatible with COBRA/bootstrap workflows. Serial production underway.
- PW1500G Stand – Shock attenuation between baseframe and cradle, stowable tow bars, shock‑absorbing castors.
Aligned with your operational needs
- Shock attenuation
-
Absorbers between baseframe and cradle (plus shock‑absorbing castors) protect the engine during every move.
- Height control / rolling
-
Hydraulic or mechanical rolling lowers overall height to meet air‑cargo limits.
- Airfreight pallet integration
-
Integrated or attachable pallets speed loading and keep stands air‑cargo ready.
- Forklift & crane interfaces
-
Limiter‑plate forklift tubes and defined crane lift points ensure controlled lifting
- Mobility & towing
-
Retractable, multi‑direction castors and tow bars (front/rear/sideways) simplify shop and ramp manoeuvring.
- On‑board storage
-
Dedicated boxes keep trunnions and accessories with the stand.
- Surface protection
-
Skydrol‑resistant paint and corrosion‑treated surfaces extend service life
- Proof‑load & documentation
-
On‑site proof‑load testing with full documentation.
How We Support You
Availability when regulations hit – Rapid stand availability (e.g., Trent 1000 Basic stands stocked after FAA AD 2024‑23‑04) shows how we respond to market needs.
Continuous improvement – Recent redesigns (e.g., guiding cones on the improved Trent XWB SES) simplify alignment and reduce change‑time risk.
Data‑backed quality – Drop and load tests (e.g., 100% OEM‑compliant drop test on the GE9X stand, 8–10 Hz tuned shock systems) validate protection claims.
